Both teams to score (BTTS): how the market works
Both teams to score is a simple yes/no market on whether each side finds the net at least once. As of 26 September 2026, Odds.Directory tracks it on 786 football events across 122 competitions.
What the market is
The market has two selections. Yes wins if both teams score at least one goal; No wins if at least one team fails to score. The final result and the number of goals beyond one per team do not matter.
A 1-1 draw and a 4-3 win both settle Yes. A 3-0 win and a goalless draw both settle No.
How it settles
Unless stated otherwise, the full-match market counts goals in normal time including stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Own goals count for the team credited with the goal, so an own goal can complete a Yes.
Some bookmakers also offer half-specific versions, such as both teams to score in the first half. Those are separate markets and settle only on goals in that half.
Reading the prices
Divide 100 by the decimal price to see the probability the market assigns to each side. The Yes and No prices together add up to a little over 100%, the excess being the bookmaker's margin.
The market is closely linked to the goals markets. Matches with a high total goals line tend to carry a shorter price on Yes, because a market that prices more goals overall also tends to price a better chance of both teams scoring.
How it moves
Before kick-off the Yes and No prices move as the market re-rates each side's chance of scoring. In play the market reacts sharply to the first goal: once one team has scored, the question becomes whether the other side will reply.
Odds.Directory records the opening, closing, highest and lowest prices on every tracked match and shows how far each selection moved. It reports the movement, not a reason for it.
