Draw no bet in football: how the market works

Draw no bet prices only the two teams and returns the stake if the match is drawn. As of 26 September 2026, Odds.Directory tracks it on 315 football events across 49 competitions.

What the market is

Draw no bet offers two selections, the home team and the away team. If the selected team wins, the selection wins; if it loses, it loses; if the match is drawn, the stake is returned.

The market is equivalent to an Asian handicap on the level line, where a draw also results in a returned stake.

How it settles

Settlement follows the full-time result in normal time including stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are not counted, so a cup match that is level after normal time settles as a draw and stakes are returned.

Because the draw is removed as a losing outcome, both selections are priced longer than the double chance options and shorter than the plain match result prices for the same teams.

Reading the odds

Divide 100 by the decimal price to get the implied probability of each side. The two figures add up to a little over 100%, the excess being the bookmaker's margin. The draw's share of the probability is effectively spread back across both sides.

Comparing draw no bet prices with the match result market shows how much of each team's price reflects the chance of a draw.

Movement

Opening, closing, high and low prices are recorded for both selections on every tracked match. Moves here usually track the match result market, since both are priced from the same assessment of the teams.

Odds.Directory shows these movements as recorded and does not explain them with outside information.

Using it alongside other markets

Draw no bet sits between the match result and double chance markets. The match result pays out only on a win, draw no bet returns the stake on a draw, and double chance treats the draw as a win for the selection. Comparing the three for the same team shows how the market values the draw in that match.

On a match page, the main odds block lists the match result prices with their opening and closing values, and the full market list includes draw no bet where it is offered. Reading them together is a quick way to see whether a price move came mostly from the team's own chance of winning or from the draw.

Coverage in our data

Draw no bet appears on 315 of the football events we track, across 49 competitions. It is not offered on every match, so it is most useful as a comparison point on the matches where it is available.
